Solidarität mit den Hafenstreiks
Häfen für den Frieden
30.Oktober 2026
18:30Uhr Barrio Olga Benario

On 30th October, dockworkers across all over the world will go on strike as part of a coordinated action against wars, genocide and the militarisation of their workplace.
With an event in the Barrio Olga Benario, we wish to show our solidarity with the dockworkers’ strike and take the opportunity to gain direct insights into the workers’ organisation and their readiness to strike.
As part of the event, we will be screening a new documentary about the Autonomous Dockworkers’ Collective C.A.L.P. Since 2011, this collective has been blocking arms shipments to war zones and has initiated several strikes in solidarity with Palestine, which have been joined by over 1 million people across Italy.
The Italian grassroots trade union USB supports the dockworkers’ strike declaration and has reinforced it by calling for a day of general strike in all the productive sectors of the country. During the event we will have the chance to talk to one of their representatives directly on the ground of this important day of struggle!
The call for this strike – supported by organisations from a total of 100 ports, from the Mediterranean sea to India – demands, in no uncertain terms, an end to war, occupation and militarisation; the recognition of an independent Palestine; and the protection of jobs in the port and the defence of social gains against rearmament, privatisation and automation through AI in Mediterranean ports.
